HoloTrak™ Scanner Series
Large area scanning
Small label, high density scanning
Metrologic's exclusive holographic technology produces large scanning areas and an omnidirectional scan pattern. For smaller labels the 8000 Series holographic technology concentrates many scan lines over a small area to provide high density scanning.
IS 8400 IS 8500
IS 8300 IS 8540 IS 8550
Model Summary
8500 - Wide field of view
8400 - An economical solution when bar codes are not especially wide

Quick specs
Bar widths 0.33 mm (0.13") and larger
Depth of field up to 810 mm (32")
Single unit scan widths up to 660 mm (26")
Conveyor speeds to 1.5 m/sec (300 ft/min)

Selection Guide
The 8400 has the same scan width and depth of field as the 8500, but has 3 lasers instead of 5, making it our most affordable holographic scanner. Scanning performance of the 8400 is equal to the 8500 when labels are less than 1.5 times as wide as they are tall. When labels are wider, the 8500 performs better.
Model Summary
8300 - Fits in smallest space
8540 - Long depth of field
8550 - High repetition rate, excellent for poor quality labels

Quick specs
Bar widths 0.25 mm (0.010") and larger
Depth of field up to 510 mm (20")
Scans as close as 460 mm (18")
Conveyor speeds to 1.5 m/sec (300 ft/min)

Selection Guide
The 8300 is excellent for omnidirectional scanning in tight spaces because the 8300's housing is smaller than all other 8000 Series models and scanning begins 25% closer to the scan window than the 8540 and 8550 models. The 8300 is the highest selling model among our "high density" scanners.

The 8540 offers an 11% longer deth of field and 33% more scan lines per second than the 8300.

The 8550 has a 28% shorter depth of field then the 8300, but produces 4 times as many scan lines per second in each focal plane, achieving the highest repetition rate of all Metrologic 8000 Series scanners.

Key Benefits
Everything included
Adjustable mounting bracket
Windows-based MetroSet software
Three communications protocol: RS232C, RS422, and LightPen
Serial communications cable
NEMA 12 "splash resistant" housing
Power supply
User manual
3 year warranty

Installation Savings
Easy setup using Windows based "point and click" software.

High uptime
High uptime because 8000 Series scanners have only one moving part, the rotating HoloDisc Fewer service calls because 8000 Series scanners have fixed optics which do not require alignment Easy maintenance. Simply clean the scanning window with a commercial glass cleaner and a cloth.

Everything included
Medium speed conveyors with speeds up to 1.5 m/sec (300 ft/min)
Walk-under tracking at loading, unloading, portal, and security points. Avoids the need to turn or aim packages or to use one hand to hold a scanner Rolling goods (paper rolls, carpets, automotive tires). Omnidirectional scan pattern reads as the goods pass through the scanner Work-in-process tracking. The 8000 Series includes high density models for scanning parts Order processing and fulfillment. Scanners provide audible and visual indications of valid.
