MORRIS TOWNSHIP, New Jersey, 3 novembre 2008 – Honeywell Scanning & Mobility, tramite la sua società interamente controllata Omniplanar, Inc., ha avviato un'azione giudiziaria contro Datalogic S.p.A e Datalogic Scanning, Inc. in data 22 ottobre 2008 presso lo Corte distrettuale degli Stati Uniti per il distretto del New Jersey. Il reclamo contro Datalogic, che ha come oggetto il software SwiftDecoder di Omniplanar, è stato presentato da Honeywell per violazione del copyright, violazione del Digital Millennium Copyright Act, violazione di contratto, appropriazione indebita di segreti industriali e violazione delle leggi in vigore nello stato del New Jersey (N.J.S.A. 2A:38A-3)1. Le violazioni, si afferma nel reclamo, si riferiscono all'intera linea di prodotti per l'imaging 2D di Datalogic, che comprende Gryphon, Power Scan, Lynx, Magellan, Kyman, JET e Matrix. Honeywell chiede il risarcimento dei danni monetari, un provvedimento ingiuntivo e il sequestro del software oggetto della violazione.

Morris Township, N.J., July 2, 2008 – Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today completed its acquisition of Metrologic Instruments, Inc., a leading manufacturer of laser and mobile imaging and remote scanning, for approximately $720 million.
Metrologic will be part of Honeywell Imaging & Mobility, a line of business within Honeywell Security. Honeywell Imaging & Mobility includes Hand Held Products, a leading manufacturer of imaging and mobility solutions, acquired by Honeywell last year.

Blackwood, New Jersey – April 28, 2008 -- Francisco Partners, one of the world's largest technology-focused private equity funds, announced today that its portfolio company Metrologic Holdings Corporation, parent company of Metrologic Instruments, Inc., has signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by Honeywell International for $720 million in cash. Metrologic is a leading provider of data capture and collection hardware and software. The business will be merged with Honeywell Security, part of Honeywell’s Automation and Control Solutions (ACS) business.

Motorola and Metrologic Resolve Patent Disputes

Schaumburg, IL and Blackwood, NJ December 31, 2007 - Motorola, Inc. (NYSE:MOT) and Metrologic Instruments, Inc. of Blackwood, New Jersey announced today that Motorola together with its subsidiary, Symbol Technologies, Inc., and Metrologic Instruments, Inc. and its subsidiaries have reached an agreement that settles all outstanding patent infringement disputes between the two companies.
Since 2002, Metrologic and Symbol have been engaged in a number of patent disputes involving technology in the fields of barcode scanning and mobile computing. The agreement announced today ends all pending litigation.

Blackwood, New Jersey – December 17, 2007 -- Metrologic Instruments, Inc. today announced the release of the IS4920, a miniature mega-pixel imaging engine with a hardware decoder. Original equipment manufacturers (OEM) can easily integrate the high-performance engine into a wide range of devices whose applications demand robust omnidirectional scanning of 1D and 2D bar codes.
The IS4920 joins Metrologic’s IS4910, which was released in August 2007. As the first member of Metrologic’s imaging engine line, the non-decoded IS4910 is intended for OEM’s desiring full control of the camera and decoding software libraries on their embedded microprocessors.
